Delegation members included the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Elmar Mammadyarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova Mr. Andrei Galbur and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Pavlo Klimkin. The meeting has also been attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Mr. Mikheil Janelidze.
Conversation has touched upon the GUAM anniversary and the role of Georgia as the chairman country of this organization.
President Margvelashvili has highlighted the main priorities in developing cooperation within the framework of the GUAM organization. As noted, significant steps should be taken to further strengthen cooperation within the GUAM framework, which is unique and includes strategic collaboration among partners.
According to the President, further coordinated steps should be taken to address the problems facing Georgia, Moldova, Azerbaijan and Ukraine by means of the GUAM organization.
The parties have also discussed security issues of the region, sectoral cooperation, and prospects of future collaboration.
