Deputy Secretary of the National Security Council of Georgia, Ms. Teona Akubardia met with the representative of the Stabilization Unit of the Government of the UK Mr. David Clark on 27th of January 2015. The sides discussed the results of NATO Wales Summit and implementation of the substantial package received by Georgia on this summit.Ms. Akubardia informed the UK side regarding therole of the National Security Council in the Security Architecture of Georgia and the changes to the legislation in 2014 in this area. The sides also discussed important issues of regional security.
The meeting was also attended: from the UK – Lieutenant Colonel James Gladwin, Special Advisor to the Ministry of Defense of Georgia Mr. Stephen Glover and Regional Advisor for the Caucasus on Conflicts and Post-conflict issues of the Embassy of the UK to Georgia Dr. Christopher Joyce; From NSC – Lasha Darsalia, Director of the Department of Security and Analytics, Mikheil Kekenadze, Director of the Department of Defense and Military Development Issues and Zurab Agladze, Deputy Director of the Department of Defense and Military Development Issues.This is second meeting of Ms. Akubardia and Mr. david Clark. First meeting of this type was held in autumn 2014.
