The Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia led an extended meeting of the National Security Council.
Along with permanent members of the Council, the President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Archil Talakvadze, The Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Maya Tskitishvili, the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia Ekaterine Tikaradze and the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava were also invited to the meeting.
At the meeting the threats and challenges stemming from the spread of new Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country were discussed and further action plan was also determined, including the option of declaring a state of emergency.
