Significant trends of the global and regional security environment were discussed during the meeting, including the military activities occurring in Ukraine and the challenges faced by Georgia. Particular attention was paid to the considerable ongoing processes in the occupied territories of the country.
The updating process of the national-level conceptual documents was also discussed at the meeting, including the final edition of the Integrated Border Management Strategy of Georgia 2023-2027, and the decision was made to adopt it. The focus was made on the matters related to the renewal of the Threat Assessment Document and the National Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy of Georgia.
During the National Security Council's meeting, the decision was made to conduct the National Cyber Security Forum within the year.
The preparation process of the critical infrastructure protection reform was also discussed.
The participants of the meeting led by the Prime Minister included Secretary of the Council/Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri and the council’s permanent members: Defense Minister, Juansher Burchuladze, Finance Minister, Lasha Khutsishvili, Head of the State Security Service, Grigol Liluashvili, Head of the Intelligence Service Shalva Lomidze, Head of Special State Protection Service, Anzor Chubinidze and Chief of the Defense Forces, Giorgi Matiashvili.
