Secretary of the Council
Vakhtang Gomelauri was appointed as the Secretary of the National Security Council of Georgia in February 19, 2019.
From September 8, 2019 he serves as the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
From August 2015 to September 2019 he occupied the post of the Head of the State Security Service of Georgia.
From January 2015 to August 2015 he served as the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
From December 2014 to January 2015 he was the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
In the period of March 2013 – December 2014 he took up the post of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
Within the period of 2003-2013 Vakhtang Gomelauri worked in LEPL Security Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
In 1994-2003 he served in the State Protection Special Service of Georgia.
In 2003 Vakhtang Gomelauri graduated from the Georgian State Academy of Physical Education and Sport.

He is married and has two children.
