Irakli Gharibashvili serves as the Prime Minister of Georgia since February 22, 2021.
Irakli Gharibashvili served as the Minister of Defence of Georgia from September 2019 to February 2021.
From March 2019 he is the Political Secretary and Member of Political Council of the Political Party “Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia”.
From February 2018 to August 2019 he worked in the private sector.
Within the period of November 2013 to December 2015 Irakli Gharibashvili held the post of the Prime Minister of Georgia.
During October 2012 - November 2013 he occupied the post of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
In February 2012 he served as the founding member of the political party “Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia” and the Head of Revision Commission of the party.
From July 2009 to June 2012 he worked as the Director of “Georgian Dream” LLC; within December 2007 - February 2012 he was the member of Supervisory Board of “Cartu Bank” LLC.
In 2005 -2012 Irakli Gharibashvili took up the post of the Chairman of the Board / General Director of the International Charitable Foundation “Cartu”.
In 2005 he occupied the position of the Deputy Director of the Logistic Department in “Burji” LLC (Cartu Group), before he was the Manager of Foreign Procurement Division in the same Department.
Within 2001- 2002 Irakli Gharibashvili was the intern of Foreign Relations Committee in the Parliament of Georgia.
Irakli Gharibashvili graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Faculty of International Law and International Relations. He has a Master’s Degree in International Relations.
He graduated from the Sorbonne University in Paris, Faculty of Political Science (majoring in International Relations).
He is fluent in French, English and Russian languages.
He is married and has four children.
