Second donor coordination meeting within the framework of the critical infrastructure protection reform was held
17 July 2020The Office of the National Security Council hosted the second donor coordination meeting within the framework of the critical infrastructure protection (CIP) reform.
At the meeting, Head of the Office of the National Security Council, Kakhaber Kemoklidze informed the donors on the current state of affairs in the context of the implementation of the CIP reform. At the same time, the respective short, medium and long-term implementation plans of the Office of the National Security Council, being a coordinating body of the CIP reform, were touched upon. In this sense, a particular emphasis was put on the component of developing the respective legislative and conceptual base within the framework of the reform.
Furthermore, the importance of critical infrastructure protection (CIP), within the context of combating hybrid threats, was underlined in the course of the event. In this regard, the activities implemented by the Office of the National Security Council were discussed. A special emphasis was placed on the process of updating the National Security Concept of Georgia and the Threats Assessment Document.
The donors, on their part, shared with the employees of the Office of the National Security Council their vision with regard to the concrete directions in which the CIP reform can be supported. At the same time, they expressed their interest in and readiness for an active cooperation with the Georgian side.
