First session of the inter-agency Commission on creation of legislative framework in the field of Critical Infrastructure Protection was held
28 May 2020With the support of the National Security Council’s Office, the first session of the inter-agency Commission on creation of legislative framework in the field of Critical Infrastructure Protection was held.
The Commission is composed of the representatives of the relevant state institutions is chaired by the Head of the National Security Council’s Office Kakhaber Kemoklidze.
Kakhaber Kemoklidze stressed the importance of a complex reform of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) with the aim of enhancing Georgia’s national security and reviewed its key directions.
The participants discussed the significance of drafting the law on the Critical Infrastructure Protection with the coordination of National Security Council’s Office and the following steps needed for its further initiation. Furthermore, they reviewed the existing needs in terms of cooperation with sectoral agencies and emphasized the importance of their involvement in the process of drafting the law.
Additionally, at the session, the decision was made to establish inter-agency working groups (expert level) in order to process and discuss appropriate issues.
