
Head of the National Security Council’s Office Kakhaber Kemoklidze held a working visit in Brussels

Kakhaber Kemoklidze, Head of the National Security Council’s Office held a working visit in Brussels.
In frames of the visit the NATO-Georgia Commission (NGC/PCSC) meeting was conducted on national security issues. It was the first time that 29 Allies have been briefed by Georgian side within the framework of NSC. During the NGC meeting the role of the newly established NSC within the national security architecture, hybrid threats facing Georgia and future cooperation perspectives have been discussed.
Kakhaber Kemoklidze also conducted bilateral meetings with NATO’s high-level representatives. He had interesting and productive discussions with the Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges Antonio Missiroli and the Assistant Secretary General for Intelligence David Cattler. During the meetings Kakhaber Kemoklidze provided the detailed information on security environment in Georgia and discussed specific formats of future cooperation.
During Brussels visit, number of high-level meetings have been held with the EU representatives: Sofie From-Emmesberg, Chair of EU's Political and Security Committee (PSC); Pawel Herczyński, Director for the Security Policy and Conflict Prevention (SecPol) in the European External Action Service (EEAS); Vincenzo Coppola, EU Civilian Operations Commander (EEAS); Richard Tibbels, Head of the US and Canada Division of the European External Action Service (EEAS); José Casimiro Morgado, Director of the EU Intelligence and Situation Centre (INTCEN) and Radosław Jeżewski, Head of Intelligence Unit at the European Union Military Staff of the European External Action Service (EEAS).
At the meetings the parties discussed ongoing national security challenges, the role of the National Security Council and its Office, as well as future cooperation prospects. Particular attention was paid to cybersecurity, hybrid threats and critical infrastructure, as well as importance of the EUMM.
