Head of the National Security Council’s Office held the introductory video conference with the new Head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia
3 June 2020The Head of the National Security Council’s Office, Kakhaber Kemoklidze held the introductory video conference with the new Head of the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia, H.E. Ambassador Marek Szczygiel.
During the video conference, the parties discussed existing security challenges. Particular attention was paid to the current situation in the occupied regions and in the vicinity areas to the occupation line. In this regard, the vital importance of the EUMM’s presence on the ground for maintaining peace and stability was underlined.
Kakhaber Kemoklidze raised an attention to the harsh humanitarian and security environment within the occupied territories, to the illegal process of so-called Borderization held across the occupation line, as well as to the closure of so-called crossing-points and its following consequences as an unprecedented negative move, run by the Russian occupation forces.
The parties also agreed to further deepen cooperation in the future.
