    Head of the NSC Office held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador of Kingdom of Denmark

    The Head of the National Security Council’s Office, Givi Tumanishvili, held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark, Anne Toft Sørensen.

    Givi Tumanishvili congratulated the first resident Ambassador of Denmark to Georgia with the new appointment and wished her success in future endeavors.

    Head of the NSC Office introduced the main functions and responsibilities of the National Security Council and it’s Office. Givi Tumanishvili acknowledged Denmark's tangible assistance in development of an interagency publication on Georgia’s National Crisis Management System, and expressed hope to further deepen the existing cooperation between two nations.

    It is worth to underline, that Denmark is a leading NATO country in regard to implementation of the Crisis Management Initiative within the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP), and the coordination of the relevant Georgian stakeholders is ensured by the NSC Office.

    At the meeting, the sides discussed the security environment in the region and the existing challenges. Initiatives and opportunities for cooperation in the field of security between Georgia and Denmark were also discussed.

    The representatives of the NSC Office and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark also attended the meeting.
