Next online conference on the investment screening policy with regard to critical infrastructure subjects was held

    5 February 2021

The Czech investment screening model was discussed in the course of the online meeting.

The representatives of the NSC Office, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, State Security Service and the National Bank of Georgia participated in a virtual conference on investment screening. From the Czech side, a representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade took part in the event.

Czech colleague elaborated on the Czech experience concerning the process of elaboration of the respective legislation. In this context, he put an emphasis on the drafting process and the mechanisms for the inclusion of relevant actors within the endeavor.

The reform, implemented in the CIP field with the coordination of the NSC Office, encompasses two separate dimensions.  The first one refers to the creation of a legal and conceptual framework in the field of critical infrastructure protection, whereas the second direction envisages identification of critical infrastructure subjects and elaboration of the list of national critical infrastructure, development of security standards for the resilience of critical infrastructure subjects and monitoring of their enforcement, as well as regulation of investment policy with regard to critical infrastructure.
