
Secretary of the National Security Council held a meeting with the Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the Ambassador of the United Kingdom

The Secretary of the National Security Council, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri held a meeting with the Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO), Martin Harris and the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Georgia, Justin McKenzie Smith.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the challenges and threats facing Georgia in cybersecurity field and agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in this respect.
Vakhtang Gomelauri stressed the role and the functions of the National Security Council and its Office in cybersecurity matters. He thanked the Government of the United Kingdom for its assistance to Georgia in cybersecurity domain and for its support with regard to the Russian cyber-attack against Georgia conducted on October 28, 2019.
As a part of the meeting, the guests also visited the National Situation Room of the National Security Council.
