Online seminar was held within the framework of the joint project of the NATO-Georgia Professional Development Programme
9 October 2020Within the framework of the joint project of the Office of the National Security Council and the NATO-Georgia Professional Development Programme, an online seminar was held on hybrid threats facing the Black Sea region.
The webinar was conducted by Lieutenant General (Ret.) of Polish Armed Forces, Doctor of Economics, Mr. Andrzej Falkowski.
The representatives of relevant state agencies of Georgia participated in the event.
The introductory remarks were made by the representatives of the Office of the National Security Council. They provided a short overview of the hybrid threats facing Georgia.
Dr. Falkowski presented a detailed overview of the hybrid threats in the Black Sea region. A special attention was paid to the hybrid instruments, used by Russia, and the respective challenges related to them. In his statement, the speaker also covered various problematic issues connected with the protection of critical infrastructure. Within the framework of the webinar, strengthening the resilience of the Black Sea regional countries was also one of the main discussion topics.
Currently, Dr. Falkowski occupies the position of a Strategic Advisor on the Defence Reform Advisory Board for Ukraine. In the past, he has held various senior management, military and diplomatic positions i.a. as the Polish Military Representative to the NATO and EU Military Committees in Brussels.
