An online seminar on hybrid threats was held in the Office of the NSC
22 January 2021Within the framework of the joint project of the Office of the National Security Council and the NATO-Georgia Professional Development Programme, a webinar was held on NATO’s Approach towards Russian Hybrid Threats.
The webinar was conducted by an independent expert on NATO and NATO-Russia related issues, Kinga Bereza-Husak. The representatives of different state agencies of Georgia participated in the event. Introductory remarks were made by the representative of the Office of the National Security Council.
During opening remarks, the speaker provided a short overview of Georgia’s current approach towards enhancing resilience against hybrid threats stemming from Russia.
In the course of working sessions, Bereza-Husak presented a detailed overview of Russia’s application of hybrid instruments in Eastern Europe, with special focus on Baltic Sea and Black Sea regions. She discussed the paradigm shift of NATO’s Counter Hybrid Strategy since 2014, the practical implementation of the respective Strategy and, in this regard, NATO’s cooperation with the EU and other partners.
