Kakhaber Kemoklidze held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador of the UK, Mark Clayton
23 September 2020The Head of the National Security Council Office, Kakhaber Kemoklidze, held an introductory meeting with H.E. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Georgia, Mark Clayton.
Kakhaber Kemoklidze spoke with the Ambassador about the national security architecture of Georgia and the mandate of the National Security Council as well as it’s Office.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the existing security challenges and threats facing Georgia.
The Head of the National Security Council Office stressed the significant support of the United Kingdom in combating the challenges facing Georgia in cybersecurity and disinformation dimensions.
The sides also discussed the prospects of strengthening security cooperation between two countries.
At the end of the meeting, Mark Clayton visited the National Situation Room created in accordance with the UK Cabinet Office and currently serving the Operational Headquarters on the Management of the State of Emergency under the Interagency Coordination Council established to combat COVID-19.
