    The U.S. Department of State delegation, led by Kathryn Insley, visited the NSC Office

    The Delegation of the U.S. Department of State, led by the Deputy Assistant Secretary (Acting) for the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation Programs Kathryn Insley visited the Office of the National Security Council.

    The Head of the NSC Office, Givi Tumanishvili and the representatives of the Office held the meeting with the delegation members.

    Givi Tumanishvili elaborated on the mandate of the NSC, the structure and the main working directions of the Office. He briefly introduced the ongoing projects and the elaboration process of the national level conceptual documents coordinated by the NSC Office, as well as the goals and future plans of the Office. At the meeting, the parties discussed new challenges of the regional security caused by the Russian military aggression against Ukraine.

    Particular attention was paid to the discussion in regard to security issues, including countering hybrid threats, cybersecurity and protection of critical infrastructure.

    The sides agreed on strengthening future prospects of cooperation in these directions.
